The Huntington Woods Department of Public Safety is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to maintain it’s national accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: Policy and Procedures, Administration, Operations and Support Services.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session, Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 at 7:00pm. The session will be conducted in the Huntington Woods Recreation Center located at 26325 Scotia, Huntington Woods.
Agency employees and the public are also invited to offer comments by calling (248) 581-2652 or (248) 581-2655 on Monday, February 19th, 2018 between the hours of 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.
Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. A copy of the standards is available at the Public Safety Building lobby during normal business hours. Local contact is Lieutenant Benjamin Zawacki @ (248) 541-1180.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Huntington Woods Department of Public Safety’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320 Gainesville VA, 20155.
